The
City Engineer in Alliance, Ohio wanted a bridge replaced in Silver Park that
would match existing stone structures in the park. Pictures were taken
and the task was to match the stone as well as the color. In the end, a
Madera Flagstone pattern was chosen for the formliner and pigment was added
to the mix to represent the desired color required by the City. Another
unique requirement of this project was the addition of a third wingwall to
act as a barrier between pedestrians and vehicles. The barrier added safety
for the pedestrian while not compromising the aesthetics of the bridge.
McCoy Associates performed the field survey and drainage analysis for this
single span bridge replacement in addition to the development of a site plan and
design of a spread footer foundation.
